Introducing The Reel Cartoonist: My New YouTube Channel
If you've ever had a caricature drawn by me at a wedding, a party or The Needles Landmark Attraction, you'll know I love what I do. Now I'm taking it somewhere new.
I've just launched a YouTube channel called The Reel Cartoonist, and the first episode is live.
What is The Reel Cartoonist?
It's a channel for anyone who loves classic films, books and music. Each episode, I dive into one of my favourites and talk about what makes it special. Then I finish by drawing a hand-drawn caricature of someone involved, from start to finish, on camera.
It's a chance to see how a caricature comes together, from the first pencil lines to the finished portrait.
Episode 1: The Long Good Friday
The first episode is about The Long Good Friday, the classic British gangster film, now available on 4K Ultra HD. I talk about the film, and I also cover the Francis Monkman soundtrack, which I own on vinyl. Then I draw the man at the centre of it all, the brilliant Bob Hoskins.
